The De La Salle Highland Gathering takes place on 27 May. The pipe bands and dancers begin their competition at about 10:00 but you will hear the pipes ringing out from much earlier than that as they warm up.
To keep everyone thoroughly entertained we have a market with a wide variety of stalls as well as plenty of entertainment for the children including giant inflatables, ten pin bowling and an ice rink. There is a tea as well as the popular beer garden so something for everyone. The braais get fired up early for breakfast bacon rolls and later produce delicious boerie and prego rolls. Several food vendors provide alternate food options to cater to every taste.
The day wraps up with the all 25 competing bands joining together to form the massed bands at about 15:30. They are also joined by some of the highland dancers.
