Butlers And Bombshells is coming to Cape Town!

19th July 19

Anyone who has attended the National Arts Festival in the past decade knows the “Butlers” comedy series. The shows have enjoyed huge popularity since first being performed in 2008, with many thousands of audiences having seen the murder-mystery plays - where the audience gets to decide what happens next!
The series' creator, Justin Wilkinson, is also a familiar face at the festival and 2019 was his 21st FEST!

Justin heads up the Slick ‘n Sleeve Theatre Collective which has enjoyed much success with numerous productions that have premiered at the National Arts Festival. Being the founder of a fresh, independent theatre collective, Justin has come a long way since his days at UCT, having entertained South African theatre patrons with his hilarious and witty comedy productions.

“It’s such a joy to entertain people and comedy is great as it allows you to make them laugh – which is really the ultimate reward for any comedy writer.” Of course, the rave reviews over the years have been testament to this. “We do this for our wonderful audiences… and when they have fun and leave on a high, it just makes it all worthwhile”, notes Justin.

During his career, he has worked as a radio presenter and voice over artist and is regularly hired as a Master of Ceremonies at events around the country. Other than acting, writing and directing, Justin has also hosted many of the well-known Sundowner Concerts at the Monument during festival time. In addition to producing shows for the past two decades at the National Arts Festival, he also finds time to serve as a mentor to other young, up-and-coming actors.

This year, Slick ‘n Sleeve is bringing their latest 'whodunit' comedy production to CAPE TOWN.
The show has recently returned from a highly successful run in Grahamstown.

BUTLERS AND BOMBSHELLS is the new installment of the now-famous murder-mystery series and the Butlers team is thrilled to once again present patrons with a brand-new comedy where the audience’s participation has an impact on the storyline.
